
Promoting Peace and Justice
- During the 2011 Transitus ceremony at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in Washington, D.C., Executive Director Kim Smolik presented a speech about the connection between living a Franciscan life and 4 "R's": reconciliation, relevancy, radicalism, and relationships. - On August 28, 2010 FMS staff, missioners, and friends planted a Peace Pole in a small "Peace Garden" at our office and missioner training center in Washington, DC. The pole serves a constant visual prayer for peace. Guests and passersby are invited to leave their own prayer for peace in the garden. Click here to read the prayers for peace that were planted.
