PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Program Director holds an important leadership position at FMS. S/he works closely with the Executive Director to provide the vision, leadership and execution of FMS' goals and priorities. This individual is a mature, seasoned professional prepared to balance organizational leadership as well as program planning and delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and coordinate all aspects of 3-month Formation Program & 3-week Re-Entry Program
• Market to and recruit prospective candidates and guide them through application process
• Maintain relationships with overseas missioners and supervisors/supporters
• Maintain relationships and programming for Returned Missioners
• Consistently model the philosophy, policies and practices of FMS

• Work closely with the Executive Director and other staff in the planning and delivery of all aspects of the lay mission program

REQUIREMENTS:

• M.A. degree in related field (Divinity, Theology, Education, Social Work, other) or equivalent
• 5+ years full-time experience in program development/implementation
• 5+ years experience in management/leadership
• 2+ years experience living internationally
• Demonstrated familiarity with Catholic Social Teaching and the Franciscan charism
• Demonstrated commitment to one's own Catholic faith
• Background/experience in spiritual direction, counseling, or related field
• Extensive group facilitation experience
• Self-directed and motivated
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking
• Able to travel internationally and domestically
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

PREFERRED:

• Spanish language proficiency
• Experience working or serving in a full-time volunteer/mission program
