Below are items needed to help us carry out and improve our programs. You can make a donation specifically toward one of these items. To do so, follow these steps:

2. Enter the cost of the item you'd like to purchase.
3. While reviewing your purchase, click "Is this for a specific purpose?" if you wish to specify a gift from our wish list. Then, type the name of your chosen gift (for example, "mission airfare," or "chapel ceiling").

In support of lay missioners:

FMS' missioners serve in Africa and Latin America for two years at a time. Here are some of the expenses that make their service possible:

$1000 for a plane ticket

$75 for one month of food

$100 for one month of housing

$200 for one month of living stipend

$300 for one month of health insurance

For our chapel:

The chapel is the heart of Casa San Salvador, FMS’ headquarters. Our missioners, returned missioners, donors, guests, summer volunteers and staff gather in this space for prayer and to celebrate Mass. 

Help us to make the chapel a more inviting space, one that welcomes quiet reflection and prayer. We've received a free consultation by an expert who designs liturgical spaces.  The following gift suggestions are based on her ideas for making our chapel more reverent and welcoming.

$500 for a large rug
around which our chairs and altar will be placed.

$300 for a wood storage unit.
Our current storage closet  for vestments and song books is falling apart

$150 for new ceiling tiles.
Due to water damage, we have lost a number of tiles, while others are badly stained. 

$150 x 2 for two framed stain glass windows 

$100 x 5 for multicultural icons for the walls

For our kitchen:

Our kitchen needs repairs due to damage to water and earthquake-related damage, and heavy traffic. 

We would appreciate contributions toward the cost of a new floor.

For our Mission Library:

In FMS' early years, we acquired a fairly substantial collection of texts on Scripture studies, missiology, spirituality, Catholic faith life, Franciscan studies and other subjects. Our library now needs to be updated with more recent publications. 

$20 for 1 book. We would like to purchase approximately 75 new books.
